Free Cities vs Rome and Greece?

The free cities are based on a trade society between the riches of east and west. The Free cities are inspired by the trades between Europe (mainly the Mediterranean) and Asia.  The free cities are independent political unites with no monarchy, and mostly republics. In the cities, opportunity and success is easier to achieve, compared to life in Westeros - which the people live in a cycle. Enslavement is prohibited. The Free cities are heavily inspired by the Italian free city states of the middle ages.
