Westeros is a continent that is located in the far west of the known world. It is seperated from the continent of Essos by a strip of water known as the Narrow Sea. As the United Kingdoms is separated from Europe by the English Channel. Westeros consists of Seven former kingdoms and nine administrative regions united by one ruler; fashioned by Aegon the Conqueror, a Targaryen.  The kingdoms and 9 regions would include the Crownlands, Dorne, The Iron Islands, The North, the Reach, the Riverlands, the Stormlands, the Vale , and the Westerlands. Many cities and towns are situated within fortifications, that are the cultural and political centers of each region. Much like the kingdoms in medieval in Europe. [3]
